St. John UCC is an exciting place to be! We are an established congregation with a heart for our community. We have identified our Mission Statement: As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are called by God and empowered by the Holy Spirit to worship, to serve our community in Christian love, and to nurture our members along their spiritual journeys. We take our mission seriously, and many people put time and effort into making our worship services a place where the good news of Jesus Christ is preached not only through words, but through music, prayer, and ‘atmosphere.’ All are welcome to worship with us – come and see if this is true!
We serve our community in Christian love through our Food Pantry, which is totally supported by the congregation, and can serve over 50 families a month! We serve our community through our free meal on Thursday evenings at the Community Kitchen, another endeavor supported by our congregation and friends in the community, where we serve about 200 people each week.
Finally, we nurture our members along their spiritual journeys by providing many different fellowship opportunities each month – from Game Night to Survivors, from the Lunch Bunch to Missionary Sewing. But, even more important than the Fellowship opportunities, at least in my opinion, are our Bible studies – we offer 2 Bible studies on Tuesdays at 1:00 pm and 6:30 pm – hopefully there’s a time that will work in your schedule so that you can join us.
I am at the church on Tuesdays and Thursdays and am eager to meet with you, and I work from home on Mondays and Wednesday, and am available by phone or email at all times. And, if you need a visit at any time, please let me know.
Rev. Torie is in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays and available anytime by appointment.
